Everyone recognizes it: You have to go to school and you are in a hurry because you wanted to stay in your bed for as long as possible, but which clothes are you going to wear? This is no longer necessary through a school uniform. But everyone has another opinion about introducing school uniforms into the Netherlands. Should the pupils at the Dutch schools wear school uniforms?  

In the Netherlands we are against bullying. You can usually see, at school, which people have a little more to spend and which a little less. Because of this, people quickly form an opinion about them, without knowing them personally. So we assess people based on their appearance. If everyone wears a school uniform, this will happen less, we will bully less, because everyone will look the same. A uniform stands for equality.

But on the other hand, this will not help people to stop bullying. Because the children also want to express themselves. Because this is no longer possible through clothing, they will express themselves through other things such as their hair and accessories. They can also be bullied for this and so the bullying will not stop.

A school uniform costs a lot of money. Not only for the parents of the children, but also for the Dutch government. We can better spend the money on other things like the famine, because people can die from it and they do not die from not wearing a school uniform! But on the other hand, despite the famine, we are also building new roads for example, so why will we save money on school uniforms and not on building roads?

In conclusion, a school uniform will not help against bullying children, but it will ensures more equality and less stress in the morning by choosing your clothes. Despite that, it will costs the Dutch government a lot of money, something they can better spend on other things, like famine, because that is way more important.
